Weights and moduli of section of combined PEINER sheet pile walls
Weights
The intermediate sections PZ of combined PEINER sheet pile walls are usually shorter than the PSp bearing piles. In the following tables the weight of the combined sheet pile wall is applied to the length of the bearing piles.
Applied weights of the wall for lengths of intermediate piles at a ratio of 60%, 80% and 100% of the bearing piles are given in the following tables. Intermediate values can be interpolated.
Moduli of section
When calculating the static values for combined sheet pile walls, the load-bearing capacity of the individual piling elements is based on their moment of inertia.
Iy=( Ip+IZw)/a WY= ( Ip+IZw)/a* ep WY`= ( Ip+IZw)/a* ep`
Ip- Moment of inertia of PSp piles in cm4
IZw- Moment of inertia of PZ piles in cm4
a - Spacing of PSp piles in m
ep/ep`- edge spacing from the neutral axis in cm (in relation to pile/locking bar outer edge)
The moduli of sections WY and WY` and the moment of inertia Iy are given in the following tables.
Designations of the wall combinations
Example: PSp 1035 S with PZi 612
Combination 24/21
where 24 is:
- 2 - Number of PSp sections
- 4 - Number of locking bars on PSp sections
- 2 - Number of intermediate sections
- 1 - Number of locking bars on intermediate section PZi

Special interlock
For driving in heavy soils, a special foot-shaped interlock can be used. This is attached to the foot of the PZ intermediate sections over a length of 300 to 500mm.
Weight: 30.5 kg/m
Cross sectional area : 38.9 cm2
